North Shore & Evanston Wedding Photography
Cinematic elegance for lakefront estates, historic venues & Northwestern celebrations
Check Your DateWhy I Love Photographing North Shore Weddings
The North Shore isn't just beautiful—it's layered. Historic architecture meets Lake Michigan light. Formal estates sit minutes from Northwestern's campus energy. This is where Chicago's elegance breathes.
As a former theater director, I don't just photograph your wedding—I direct it like a film set. Every moment gets the attention it deserves: the way afternoon light hits the Evanston Women's Club staircase, the quiet intimacy of lakefront first looks, the grit and grace of celebrations that feel both refined and real.
I've photographed dozens of North Shore weddings from Evanston to Lake Forest. I know which venues allow rooftop access, where parking gets tricky, and how to find beauty in every corner—even the "boring" ones.
48-72 Hour Highlights
Your favorite images delivered before thank-you cards. Because you shouldn't wait 6 weeks to relive your wedding day.
Theater Director's Eye
Trained as a professional actor and director. I choreograph moments without making them feel staged—cinematic honesty, not forced poses.
LGBTQ+ Welcoming
Love is love. Non-traditional ceremonies, same-sex weddings, and camera-shy couples are not just welcome—they're celebrated.
Reba & Kyle's Evanston Women's Club Wedding
Classic North Shore elegance meets intimate celebration. This historic venue's architecture provided the perfect backdrop for a day that felt both timeless and deeply personal.
Evanston Women's Club: A North Shore Gem
This 1920s Georgian Revival building is everything I love about North Shore venues: historic elegance without stuffiness, architectural detail that photographs beautifully in any light, and an intimacy that keeps your wedding feeling personal, not like a hotel ballroom.
Why photographers (and couples) love this venue:
- Grand staircase perfect for dramatic portraits and processionals
- Multiple getting-ready spaces with natural light
- Outdoor terrace for cocktail hour with tree-lined views
- Flexible timeline options (ceremony + reception on-site)
- Walking distance to Northwestern campus for photo opportunities
- Intimate capacity (120-150 guests) keeps it from feeling impersonal
Planning an Evanston Women's Club wedding? I know every corner worth photographing.

North Shore Wedding Photography FAQ
Do you travel to all North Shore suburbs?
Yes—from Evanston to Lake Forest (and beyond if your venue's worth the drive). I'm based in Highland Park, so the entire North Shore is my backyard. No travel fees for Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glencoe, Highland Park, or Lake Forest weddings.
What's your experience with North Shore venues?
I've photographed dozens of North Shore weddings at venues like Evanston Women's Club, Northwestern's Norris Center, Bahá'í Temple, private lakefront estates, and country clubs. I know the lighting challenges, the best photo spots, and the parking logistics (crucial for Evanston street parking).
Can we do engagement photos on Northwestern's campus?
Absolutely. Northwestern's lakefront, The Arch, Deering Library, and Shakespeare Garden are all gorgeous. Best times are early morning or golden hour to avoid student foot traffic. No special permits needed for engagement sessions (weddings require university coordination).
What if our North Shore venue isn't "fancy"?
I started as a street photographer. I can make a parking lot look cinematic if needed. The truth? Your venue matters less than you think. Light, emotion, and how I frame you—that's what makes your photos beautiful. Evanston backyards can look as stunning as Lake Forest estates.
How far in advance should we book?
North Shore weddings book 10-18 months out, especially for May-October dates. If your date's within 6 months, reach out immediately—I occasionally have cancellations or off-season availability. Weekend dates in peak season (June-September) book fastest.
Do you photograph outdoor lakefront ceremonies?
Yes, and I love them—but we always need a weather backup plan. Lake Michigan wind can be brutal (even in summer). I help couples think through logistics: ceremony timing for best light, sound system needs for beach ceremonies, and protecting formal wear from sand.
